Marshall County Arts Commission
Our Mission:
The mission of the Marshall County Arts Commission is to insure the inclusion of the cultural heritage of the arts in Marshall County, aid in providing venue opportunities for arts presentations by and for the citizens of Marshall County, and assist in securing financial support for these provisions. The Commission seeks to serve as a catalyst for the development of an appreciation for the arts as a whole and all the disciplines therein.
Arts Commission:
The Marshall County Arts Commission was chartered in 2003 by the Marshall County Fiscal Court. It is incorporated, operates by a set of by-laws, and is recognized by the Internal Revenue as a qualified 501© non-profit charitable organization.
Governed by a thirteen member volunteer board, the Commission conducts open monthly business meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month.
Marshall County Children’s Arts Center:
The 6,800 square-foot Children’s Art Center opened in the spring of 2014. It is the only free-standing children’s arts center in the state of Kentucky! This facility, located at 1202 Elm Street in Benton, Kentucky, serves as the central operating location for the programs and activities of the Arts Commission.
